type='text'>Rajavari Chepala Cheruvu Movie Review

A honest cop tries to change the system but ends up on the receiving end due to wily politicians and corrupt officials. How does the cop teach a lesson to all, how does the fish business help him in this aspect. Let us go and see.

Story

The noted politician Srinivas Rao (kota) has a son who throws acid on a pretty girl’s face since she has not accepted his love and goes scot free. But not for long as the honest and a bit unusual Sub Inspector Raja (posani) takes up the case and with his unorthodox approach takes the youngster into custody and gets the truth. Things get difficult for Srinivas Rao when he decides to contest for election but faces stiff opposition from the simple yet charismatic leader Sivaprasad (Giri Babu). Rao tries to use dirty politics and drags Sivaprasad’s family but then Raja intervenes and teaches him a very humiliating lesson. But before Rao could think of the next step, he is killed by his own daughter (zubeda) and son in law (shakeel). The son in law becomes the MLA and he ensures that Raja loses his job, gets him beaten by his men and also does something horrible to Raja’s pregnant wife Sirisha (gaina) who cannot conceive for the rest of her life. Raja decides to get into fishery business and approaches the same villain who is now the MLA for help and with his support, he also gets in touch with the concerned team of government officials (brahmi, M S, kondavalasa, sana, prabhakar, pragati, venu madhav). They all take bribes and grant Raja with the required clearances. The real story then begins with Raja hatching a plan. What he does forms the rest of the tale.

Performances

Posani was his usual self and came up with an energetic performance, he had his usual trademark bouts of madness in his mannerisms and dialogues which forms the highlight of the film. Gaina looked gorgeous and give her sweet face, she has actually done a bold role. Kota made his presence felt. A stunner was Zubeda who oozed out her oomph in the item song and also during few scenes, she has potential. Shakeel was not upto mark. Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, MS, Kondavalasa, Prabhakar, Venu Madhav, Sana, Pragati, Ali and others performed their role as required.

Technical aspects

The dialogues were the main life for the film and it had some sensible stuff and also sleazy stuff. Script was alright but it could have been better, screenplay was average. Music was good for the two songs and the background score was apt. Costumes and art department did their job neatly and editing was something missing at key points. Camera was quite haphazard and it was shaky most of the times.

Director’s portrayal

The director wanted to come up with a thought provoking storyline but then he should have also focused on conveying it to the audience with the right proportion instead of getting extreme on few points. His narrative was good and drove the message perfectly but then there are times when he came up with some really embarrassing and vulgar stuff which makes the audience quite uncomfortable.

Critic’s view

The film is basically trying to put across to the audience that it is the people who are with power and not the politicians. Though the theme is bring about an awareness amongst the viewers and that too with a rather interesting concept, the film fell flat on few key instances like lacking pace during the second half while taking off with a good tempo in the first half. Then, there is also a nudity scene which is actually quite shameful and dragging it for more than three scenes was something not acceptable. The film has got a fair share of eccentric expression, some really censorable dialogues and a good share of entertaining lines too but then this is a treat for the front benchers and those who are used to the Posani flavors, not others.

Verdict

A typical Posani flick

Cast: Posani, Gaina, Brahmanandam, Ali, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Raghubabu, MS, Krishna Bhagawan, Sunil, Venumadhav, Giribabu, Ranganath, Chalapati Rao, Kondavalasa, Zubeda Khan, Shakeel etc.

CREDITS:

Banner: Lakshmi Ganapathi Films

Music: Vandemataram Srinivas

Camera: Gadiraju Srinivas

Director: Posani

Producers: Subramanyam, Rupesh Y

99 Movie Review

Exquisitely, it’s a great weekend for all film buffs who felt like thrown out of kilter sans releases. Gone are those unremarkable Fridays that didn’t bring an entertaining moment for them as ‘99’ kick-starts as a first release after such issues prevailing for a long time.

99 – One shot from century, a mark away from centum or whatever you may perceive it to be as. The film just sways on this line with interesting characterizations delineated. Perhaps, first thing you would like about is the finely established roles – fantabulous casting of performers.

Kudos to filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.!!! They’ve maneuvered with ravishing moments in the film, altho’ brimmed with certain flimsiness in narration. Spinning the best innovative spells – What many filmmakers failed to do have been accomplished by this duo. Of course, the auteurs could’ve spent a little more time in diminishing their amateurish elements. It’s like delaying moments in establishing each character and of course, the fire of thrilling moments ignites merely before minutes to intermission.

Well, just book your tickets, give a break to your cognizance, sit back and relax….

Set at the backdrops of year 1999, the film is centered on two small-time outlaws (Kunal Khemu, Cyrus Broacha). They’re over-the-top dealers of illegal SIM Cards duplication. Their happy lives get entangled with out-and-out hazardous moments once they rob a car and meet an accident. The sorriest part is that the car belongs to a roughneck gangster (Mahesh Manjrekar) to counterbalance with money.

Here protrudes the roller-coaster thriller ride that takes you straight onto the busiest streets of Mumbai and Delhi.

Makers of this film geared up with a flamboyant debut directorial in ‘Flavors’ (Telugu) and they’ve proved with the same best results in ‘99’. Indeed, the makers have churned their films with three ducky vistas ‘Funny, Intelligent and Stylish’… ‘99’ has these traits in equal ratios.

But really, there’s something that gets everyone more bemused about few filmmakers of this sort. They drop interesting ideas on their papers, but things get transformed as mediocre when they’re on the screens. Why do they plan for very long duration? Although, this comedy thriller has more enjoyable parts, you’ll start looking here-n-there and certainly find few yawning, looking at the watches. Nonetheless to these degrading factors, fantastic characters diminish them and that’s a smart little move by makers. Be it these criminals (Kunal and Cyrus) or the serious match fixer (Vinod Khanna), they get straight under the skin of personations. Soha Ali Khan is much most hunky-dory on her show. Boman Irani leaps with a commendable performance and the duo-filmmakers should’ve established his image more delicately. Simone Singh and Amit Mistry have done justice to their roles.

Getting on with technical aspects, music is a big letdown on both the vistas of Background Score and Songs. On the contrastive grounds, Rajeev’s camera works on exotic locations of Mumbai and lanes of Delhi are awe-inspiring. Looks like both departments of camera and editing have laid their innovative designs together.

Right on complete rating, ‘99’ scores same as its title and would have done better if certain diminishing elements were avoided. Well it’s a good attempt by duo filmmakers that’s sure to keep audiences entertained.

Source : http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/hindi/review/11109.html

Sarvam Movie Review

Director Vishnuvardhan seems to have mastered the art of making a trendy, sophisticated and chic film. The young film-maker often led his films do all the talking. After touching the peak in ‘Billa’, Vishnu is out to face the litmus test with ‘Sarvam’. With his trusted lieutenant Arya by his side and the likes of cinematographer Nirav Shah and music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja around, he has come up with a movie that certainly lives up to his reputation.

Vishnu has tried a marriage between commercial and real cinema in ‘Sarvam’ and seems to have succeeded fairly. Though the storyline seems to be familiar, yet with his typical visual narration, he walks away with all honours. As like his other films, Vishnuvardhan has blended romance and action at right mix.

A convincing thriller is a rarity in Tamil cinema. Vishnu has taken it in his stride and rendered a movie that is convincing and makes the audience glued to their seats. What more, he has struck to his task without deviating from the storyline.

Arya and Vishnuvardhan share a good rapport as was evident in their previous film – ‘Arindhum Ariyamalum’ and ‘Pattiyal’. With ‘Sarvam’, the duo seems to have struck a hat-trick. Polished by Bala in ‘Naan Kadavul’, Arya comes across as a cool, suave architect who runs behind Trisha in the second half and goes hammer and tongs flexing his muscles to save the life of a young innocent child.

Trisha is gorgeous and as fresh as an apple. She fits the role of a medical practitioner in love with Arya. The only disappointment is that she fades away from the story very quick. Unfortunately she hogs very little space on screen.

JD Chakravarthy, who sizzled the screen in Tollywood, plays an interesting role. However the lack of conviction in narrating his character robs away the sheen from his character. Malayalam actor Indrajith makes his debut in Kollywood playing a desperate father running from pillar to post for his son.

Karthik (Arya), a cool suave architect comes across a young doctor Sandhya (Trisha) at a Kart track. He falls for her instantly. Romance blossoms. Tragedy strikes in Karthik’s life when a kite snatches Trisha’s life. Desperate attempts to save Sandhya who is strangled by the thread of the kite ends in vain. However her heart gets transplanted for a young boy Imman (Rohan), son of Naushad (Indrajith).

A flashback reveals that Naushad had run over a football coach Eashwar’s (JD Chakravarthy) wife. He is keen to take revenge on Naushad by plotting to kill his son. Arya develops a good rapport with the child after his ladylove’s heart is transplanted to him.

Coming to know of Eashwar’s motive, Karthik steps in to save the kid. What happens then forms the climax.

Vishnuvardhan deserves all credit for making it stylish from the first frame. Nirav Shah’s lens does all the magic capturing thrilling moments well. He captures the various locales of Chennai, Rajasthan and forest lands well. Yuvan’s brisk re-recording towards the second half is praiseworthy.

On the whole, Sarvam, produced by Ayngaran International, is a visual delight that is sure to thrill the audience.

http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/review/8823.html

Rajadhi Raja Movie Review

"Does glamour sell in Kollywood? Producer - director Sakthi Chidambaram firmly believes so. His heart seems to beat for an overdose of glamour, laced with commercial masala elements. ‘Rajadhi Raja’ starring Larencce Raghavendra and a bunch of five heroines is an attempt by Sakthi Chidambaram in that direction."

The movie is an extension of his earlier films which were predominantly 'commercial cocktails'. Sakthi Chidambaram has tried to woo front-benchers with Rajadhi Raja, which has crass dialogues from the word go. There is action, romance and bloodshed too besides half-a-dozen racy songs too.

The director could have avoided double entendre dialogues which makes one squirm in their seats. Though Censor had muted several scenes, still many had still escaped their scissors.

Raja (Larencce), a native of Coutrallam, is a happy-go-lucky-youngster. Tragedy strike his life when his father loses his hand when a doctor in an inebriated condition operates on him. As expected his father is gagged by cops and lawyers. They assault him. In his death bed, his father gets a promise that he would make his three brothers into a cop, lawyer and doctor. Though Raja realises his mission, he falls for his own acts. The trio (who become doctor, policeman and a lawyer) gang up with a baddie Shyla (Mumtaz), a gangster, who rises to become a Minister. It is up to Raja to end their atrocities and teach them a lesson. In between, Raja comes across young women (Snigdha, Kamna Jethmalani and Meenakshi) and sings foot-tapping romantic duets with them.

The story is oft-repeated in Tamil cinema, but Sakthi Chidambaram has opted to give it a local flavour. The comedy and glamour are laced throughout the script only to appease the front-benchers, but they leave a bad taste in mouth.

Larencce Raghavendra has tried to imitate Rajinikanth, while Mumtaz hogs limelight playing a dreaded gangster. She fits the role like T. Karunaas hogs enough screen space coming all through the film with Lawrence. The rest of the heroines serve the purpose of oozing glamour. Karunaas, who makes his foray as music composer with ‘Rajadhi Raja’, has come up with songs that are loud (especially the remix number “Elandha Pazham”).

All said, ‘Rajadhi Raja’ is like a king sans his crown.

Source: http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/review/10417.html

Tamilnadu election results 2009

Finally The counting comes to an end, here is the Tamilnadu election results 2009

Total number of seats in Tamilnadu - 39 seat.

Tamilnadu election results 2009

DMK won 18 seats.
AIDMK won 9 seats.
Congress won 8 seats.
CPI won 1 seat.
CPM won 1 seat.
MDMK won 1 seat and
Others won 1 seat

The result above are collected from Daily news paper.

Kanthaswamy Movie Stills

<img style="cursor: pointer; This time around he has tried to recreate the magic with remake of Bollywood hit ‘Yes Boss’, which speaks about greed for money and war of emotions.

Though the movie dwells on money and romance, it does not proceed in a serious fashion. The film comes with a comic approach. A melodrama laced with humour, the whole story revolves around three principal characters played by Madhavan, Abbas and Mamta Mohandoss. Selvah has kept it simple and straightforward. It is an honest and sincere remake of Hindi hit. Unfortunately the major sore is that the Tamil version is more artificial and tacky.

Guru (Madhavan) wants to start a company of his own. He works for his boss Krishna (Abbas), who is a successful entrepreneur leading a happy married life. But the major problem for Krishna is his playboy nature. Guru hopes that his boss will help him set up a company so that he can also become a boss and make money. Therefore he does everything to please him.

Krishna falls for a model Seema (Mamta Mohandoss). Interestingly Guru also romances Seema. But coming to know that his boss is behind the girl, he decides to give up his romance to attain his personal goals. He goes hammer and tongs ensuring that Seema gets close with Krishna. But after a sequence of events, he realizes that he yearns and craves for Seema. Did he give up his love for making it big in life or go hammer and tongs to hold Seema’s hands forms the climax.

Madhavan has played his character well. He has enough scope to display seriousness, sad, agony and joy. Though he played it with delicacy, at many places, he looks very alien for the role.

Mamta Mohandoss has simply tried to do what Juhi Chawla did in the original. She has mimed her in body language and costumes too. Abbas as lusty boss has also done a wonderful job in this film. Vivek as Madhavan’s friend impresses in parts. His comedy in the company of M S Baskar is hilarious. He plays a woman resembling actress Saroja Devi is enjoyable. The rest of the cast include Brinda Parekh, Sona, Mayilsamy, Arthy and Renuka.

If songs were the USP of ‘Yes Boss’, ‘Guru En Aalu’ has half-a-dozen numbers by Srikanth Deva which are far from being impressive. U K Senthil Kumar’s cinematography is a major solace in the movie.

Produced by KRG, ‘Guru En Aalu’ is a more dramatized version of a simple theme, which fails to stick to our hearts.

Source: http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/review/10307.html

Election results 2009 on online

The Election Commission Announce to view the Election results on online in official Websites . type='text'>Newtonin 3am Vidhi Movie Review

Every action has equivalent opposite reaction is Newton's Law. Seemingly inspired by his 'finding' S J Suryah and his director Thai Muthuselvan have dished out a racy and riveting fare that lives up to the title.

A thrilling movie, it has enough elements in it to make one glued to their seat. A S J Suryah's movie is incomplete without right commercial elements. Keeping that in mind, Thai Muthuselvan has laced the thriller with naach - gaana and typical S J Suryah humour elements in the story.

A revenge story that begins and end in just a couple of hours in a man's life is something new. Treading a different path, the director come out clean convincing the audience. Though the story is old, the trick lies in its presentation.

Guru (Suryah), a fashion designer falls in love with Priya (Sayali Bhagat), an anchor with a music channel. On the eve of their wedding, Priya's boss and the television channel owner JP (Rajeev Krishna), who lusts after her, brutally rapes and kills her and makes it look like a suicide.

Guru vows to bump off JP on the first death anniversary of Priya. He does enough homework to nail JP. With the help of his friend working in the channel, he meticulously plans for a year and execute things in just two hours- proving Newton's third law every action has an equal but opposite reaction.

S J Suryah has improved leaps and bounds as far as acting is concerned. He has worked hard to shed his playboy image to do an angry Youngman’s role. Shayali Bhagat fills the oomph factor. But the real scene stealer is Rajeev Krishna. He had impressed everyone playing a bubbly young man in Aaha almost a decade ago. He is back after a hiatus to spell surprise on everyone playing a rich and sophisticated baddie who goes hammer and tongs to save his life.

On the flip side, the songs are a big brake to the fast screenplay. Had the second half had more of the cat and mouse game between Suryah and Rajeev, Newtonin Moonram Vidhi would have been more racy.

Source: http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/review/10110.html

Pasanga Movie Review

Who said commercialsm has overtaken realism in Tamil cinema? Amidst the flock of movies where the hero flex his muscles and utter punch dialogues and sings needless duets in exotic foreign locations, movies like Subramaniapuram, Paruthiveeran and Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu proved all hopes are not lost.

Director Sasi Kumar, who brought a whiff of fresh air to Tamil cinema with Subramaniapuram last year, has taken Kollywod a step above with his next production venture Pasanga. Striking a smooth balance between real and fantasy elements, Pasanga is rare in the sense it is for the children and by the children, which is convincing and clear from the word go.

After Mani Ratnam, who charmed the audience with Anjali, a healthy clean entertainer featuring children all the way almost two decade ago, debutant Pandiraj has managed to gather guts to do a movie that dwells on the physical and psychological emotions of children.

He has used the bigger canvas to capture the joy and emotions among the innocent children. But the filmmaker has not deviated from regular cinema, for the storyline is typical to run-of-the-mill stuffs. Two pitted against each other and keen to take revenge on one another. They cross and crisscross building up to a climax where the hero prevails over the baddie. But what is strikingly different in Pandiraj’s approach is that the whole story is set around a group of children. They make you laugh, cry and sulk in emotions.

The story unfolds in a dry barren village. Anbu (Kishore), the protagonist in the film comes across his bitter foe Jeeva (Sriram) on the first day of his school. Interestingly, Jeeva happens to be son of the headmaster Nithyanandam (remember the Kalloori professor).

The good-hearted Anbu tries to mend ways and befriend Jeeva. However, Jeeva is hell-bent on taking Anbu for task. Enters Manonmani (Dharini), who develops affinity towards Anbu raising between him and Jeeva. Anbu not only excels in his academics but also in various extra curricular activities, which only widens the rift.

The fight between Anbu and Jeeva results in a rift between their respective families.
However, in a twist to the tale, Meenakshi Sundaram (Vimal), Anbu’s uncle falls in romance with Sobikannu (Vega), the sister of Jeeva. Interestingly, the families get united as they agree for Meenakshi
Sundaram’s wedding with Sobikannu, much against the wishes of both Jeeva and Anbu. Did they unite or not forms the climax, which has been etched out by Pandiraj in a gripping manner.

What is praiseworthy is the director’s faith in casting all newcomers and extracting the best from them. The children, needless to say, have performed on screen like seasoned professionals. Whether it is Kishore or Sriram or Dharini, they are right there delivering right expressions.

Vega, who sizzled the screen in Saroja plays a rural belle. She looks apt for the role and proves that she can handle her role with ease. Watch out for the young Pandian, who as Pakkada, can give challenge to any of the contemporary Tamil film comedians.

James Vasanthan continues from where he left in Subramaniapuram. More than his songs, his background score sets up the momentum. Veteran singer Balamuralikrishna stamps his class in Anbaley Azhagagum Veedu. Premkumar, the cinematographer, has captured the lifestyle and culture of rustic, barren land of south Tamilnadu well.
All credits should go to Sasikumar, who has made a real bold attempt by producing such a film. It is simple, straightforward and scintillating. Hats off Sasikumar and Pandiraj.

Source: http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/review/10979.html

IPL Cricket 2009 Day2 Matches

IPL Cricket 2009 Day2 Matches

IPL Cricket 2009 Match 3 Delhi Daredevils vs. Kings XI Punjab

IPL cricket 2009 between Delhi Daredevils vs. Kings XI Punjab match 3 scheduled to begin at 12:30 local time (10:30 GMT).

IPL cricket 2009 between Delhi Daredevils vs. Kings XI Punjab match 3 played at Newlands, Cape Town, on 19 April 2009.

Result Delhi Daredevils won by 10 wickets (with 7 balls remaining) (D/L method)

Toss Delhi Daredevils, who chose to field first
Points Delhi Daredevils 2, Kings XI Punjab 0
Player of the match DL Vettori (Delhi Daredevils)

1st Innings:Kings XI Punjab

RS Bopara (22)
K Goel (38)
Yuvraj Singh (16)
KC Sangakkara (8)
DPMD Jayawardene (6)
IK Pathan (6)
PP Chawla (0 )
T Kohli (0)
Extras (lb 4, w 4) (8)

1st Innings Bowling: Delhi Daredevils

DP Nannes (24/0 in 3 over)
AM Salvi (17/1 in 2 over)
P Sangwan (19/0 in 2 over)
VY Mahesh (25/1 in 2 over)
DL Vettori (15/3 in 3 0ver)

2nd Innings: Delhi Daredevils

G Gambhir (15)
V Sehwag (38)
Extras (b 1, lb 1, w 3) 5

2nd Innings Bowling:Kings XI Punjab

IK Pathan (9/0 in 1 over)
YA Abdulla (19/0 in 1 over)
VS Malik (11/0 in 1 over)
VRV Singh (5/0 in 1 over)
PP Chawla (12/0 in 0.5 over)

Delhi Daredevils squad

V Sehwag, R Bhatia, PD Collingwood, AB de Villiers, TM Dilshan, G Gambhir, KD Karthik, AB McDonald, GD McGrath, MF Maharoof, VY Mahesh, M Manhas, A Mishra, Y Nagar, DP Nannes, A Nehra, AM Salvi, P Sangwan, OA Shah, MK Tiwary, DL Vettori, DA Warner, T Yadav, U Yadav.

Kings XI Punjab squad

Yuvraj Singh, YA Abdulla, Amanpreet Singh, AK Argal, RS Bopara, RR Bose, PP Chawla, BT Cockley, K Goel, JR Hopes, DPMD Jayawardene, SM Katich, U Kaul, T Kohli, SO Kukreja, B Lee, VS Malik, SE Marsh, WA Mota, R Ninan, IK Pathan, LA Pomersbach, RR Powar, Ravikant Shukla, KC Sangakkara, VRV Singh, S Sohal, S Sreesanth, TM Srivastava.

IPL Cricket 2009 Match 4 Deccan Chargers vs. Kolkata Knight Riders.

IPL Cricket 2009 Match 4 between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders scheduled to begin at 16:30 local time (14:30 GMT).

IPL Cricket 2009 Match 4 between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders played at Newlands, Cape Town, on 19 April 2009 - This was being deemed as the Telugu version of a James Bond flick when it comes to style and presentation. How does a thief become a don and try to save the world is the essence. Let us see how that happens.
Story

Set in Malaysia, ACP Krishnamurthy (Krishnamraju) is keen on catching the one and only Billa (Prabhas), the international criminal. Billa keeps escaping each time the cops try to catch him and he is flanked by his gang of girlfriend Lisa (Namitha), henchmen Ranjith (Supreeth) and Vijay (Subbaraju). In their gang joins Maya (Anushka) who is the sister of Vijay and she comes to kill Billa since he has killed Vijay during an incident. Meanwhile, Krishnamurthy finally manages to corner Billa and in the shootout, Billa dies in his hands. In order to know the major deal that Billa has with Rashid Khan (Kelly), Krishnamurthy looks for an idea and he finds Ranga. Ranga (Prabhas) is a petty thief who lives at Vizag and makes his earnings to take care of the two kids. He dreams of having big cars and men following him, he resembles Billa exactly. Krishnamurthy manages to convince Ranga to take up the place of Billa and takes him to Malaysia. Their plan is partly successful but in between, Krishnamurthy gets killed and this lands Ranga in trouble. How does he manage to come out of all that forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Prabhas has come up with a very impressive performance and his act as Ranga was more impressive than Billa. However, he suited the role of a stylish don. Anushka gave every penny’s worth with her bikini act and the glamour show. Namitha competed equally with Anushka and showed her voluptuous sex appeal. Supreeth looked evil enough, Rehman was stylish but he could have been more intense with his performance, Krishnamraju was not upto the mark and perhaps he is a miscast to this role. Ali came and went without any comedy, Jayasudha was barely visible. Hansika was sweet in the song.

Technical aspects

The film was made more relying on the presentation than the narrative aspect. Dialogues were dull, the script was written without much masala, screenplay could not elevate the movie. Music was just average and there were only two songs that were worth taking home, cinematography was good in parts. Editing was sharp but sometimes it kind of created too short a sequence taking away the feel. Art department came with good settings while the stunt scenes were also impressive, costumes were perfect to each character.

Director’s portrayal

Meher Ramesh has come up with a storyline that is familiar but then it appeared that he was unable to handle the slick approach. Though his earlier venture ‘Kantri’ had those impact points, it was missing in Billa. The film could have taken off on a high voltage opening and instead it came across as a rather disconnected and stale start and Ramesh has to take the responsibility for it. However, few instances showed his brilliance but then he could have been a lot better given the budget and the infrastructure he was given. It came across as a rather amateurish presence in few places.

Critic’s view

The film could have been a super hit if only the script was handled very well and the dialogues were written with more passion and fire. The first fifteen minutes of the movie was hardly anything and it takes a while for the actual momentum to pick up. To be honest, the real story begins only in the second half and the plot gets life after the arrival of Ranga. Even the bikini act and action sequence of Anushka was not that sensuous but her beautiful presence kind of made up for it. The film was made with a high budget and the money could have been used in a very efficient manner to create a proper blockbuster. But that is not happening with ‘Billa’ and it will be an above average visual treat at the box office.

Verdict

It is stylish, visually rich. Not much in content and depth though.
Cast: Prabhas, Anushka, Namitha, Rehman, Krishnamraju, Supreeth, Kelly
Dorjee, Hansika Motwani, Subbaraju, Ali, Jayasudha etc

CREDITS:
Banner: Gopikrishna Movies pvt ltd
Music: Mani Sharma
Cinematography: Soundararajan
Director: Meher Ramesh
Producer: Narendra, Prabodh

Top 5 players From Each Team - IPL Series

The IPL league games threw up many surprises. Very few expected Rajasthan Royals to be the best team (and now a finalist); nobody expected the Deccan Chargers to do so badly. We'll discuss each team's performance, and identify the five best and three most disappointing players. While doing so we shall italicize what appear to be key pointers.

Deccan Chargers Hyderabad (won 2, lost 12)
Top five Players
Rohit Sharma
Adam Gilchrist
Venugopal Rao
Shahid Afridi
RP Singh

Rohit Sharma confirmed that he's perhaps India's finest batting prospect. He scored a lot of runs; stylishly and apparently unhurriedly - that's why his strike rate of 148 seems a bit of a surprise. Adam Gilchrist batted brilliantly once and efficiently most other times, but he isn't used to losing so many matches - and eventually that began to show. He should probably give up wicket-keeping because he didn't seem to enjoy it. Venugopal Rao, who returned after Laxman's injury, completely remodeled his batting - and discovered the joy and virtue of hitting big sixes. These three Hyderabad batsmen were sending a message: everyone must learn to hit sixes. Curiously enough, someone who could belt the biggest sixes forgot how to do it at the IPL: Shahid Afridi however made up by bowling sufficiently well. R P Singh bowled with verve, and even briefly wore the purple cap, but he will realize that his economy rate of 8.6 is worrying. With a PVI of 3383, R P Singh is also overpriced.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (won 4, lost 10)

Top fivePlayers
Rahul Dravid
Praveen Kumar
Mark Boucher
Dale Steyn
Zaheer Khan

With an MVPI of 361, Rahul Dravid was still the best player. If one had to quibble, one would point to his low strike rate of 124. But Dravid usually came in at 20/2 or 30/3 and his first task was to ensure that his team lasted 20 overs! Bangalore's biggest problem was that they didn't have good opening batsmen. Praveen Kumar, a modest bowling all-rounder, who might have failed to find a place in the final eleven of a team like Punjab Kings XI, was second best. That seems to confirm what everyone has been saying: Bangalore's team selection was horribly wrong. Mark Boucher too would admit that he didn't do well, but he's still third best. Boucher's strike rate of 127 tells another story. Bangalore's batsmen never attacked the bowling. Dale Steyn kept it tight, but his bowling partner, Zaheer Khan, was expensive. Bangalore didn't have the bowlers to keep good batsmen quiet. Nathan Bracken , with his economical spells, could have made the difference.PVI and MVPI after the IPL league matches

Kolkata Knight Riders (won 6, lost 7, NR 1)

Top five Players
Sourav Ganguly
David Hussey
B McCullum
Umar Gul
Prasanta Saha

Sourav Ganguly was Kolkata's best player. On his day he batted with fiery aggression; and he bowled with an excellent economy rate of 6.4. But after Brendon McCullum and Ricky Ponting left, Kolkata's batting suddenly seemed shallow. David Hussey did what he could but Kolkata's unsettled batting order was always a worry. The Eden Gardens pitch was temperamental, the floodlights tended to misbehave and the team never got into a groove. When Kolkata won it was only because of an exceptional performance by individual players: McCullum, Shoaib Akhtar and Ganguly.Prasanta Saha proved to be a very tidy keeper who could also bat adventurously. Umar Gul averaged two wickets per match and hit big sixes; he is a fine prospect when he is fit and happy with his captain. With a PVI of 517, Gul proved to be a great buy; in fact, fast bowlers who can take a couple of top order wickets and consistently hit 20 runs in 10 balls are very valuable.

Mumbai Indians (won 7, lost 7)Top five Players

S Jayasuriya
Shaun Pollock
Dwayne Bravo
Robin Uthappa
Abhishek Nayar

Sanath Jayasuriya seemed strangely listless when the IPL started but soon, especially after his captain's appearance, it started raining sixes. There were 31 in all - and most of them in the right gaps and just a few feet over the rope. Jayasuriya was IPL's most valuable player (Shane Watson has overtaken him after the first semi-final) because he realized that 20-20 cricket is all about hitting sixes - even if they don't win you matches, they bring the crowds in. Shaun Pollock and Dwayne Bravo were two of IPL's top three bowling all-rounders (the third, Farveez Maharoof, carried his good form to the semi-finals). Bravo conceded more runs, but he also scored a few more. Robin Uthappa made it to the top five because he scored a lot of runs. But his low strike rate of 115 is a puzzle; Uthappa commanded a price of $800,000 because he was seen as a demolition man; he was supposed to take a bow after hitting 60 in 30 balls - not after taking a regulation catch at long-on. Abhishek Nayar struck you as an exemplary team man; his strike rate of 149 was because of his busy and inventive batting.

Delhi Daredevils (won 7, lost 6, NR 1)Top five Players

V Sehwag
Gautam Gambhir
Farveez Maharoof
Shikhar Dhawan
Glenn McGrath

Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir always fired together to give Delhi those electric starts. But their early disappearance usually meant big trouble (as Delhi discovered in last night's semi-final). Shikhar Dhawan was durable enough to support the openers, but he was incapable of forcing the pace himself as his strike rate of 118 suggests. Farveez Maharoof is just the sort of fast bowling all-rounder that we are recommending for T20 cricket; a fast and attacking bowler and a furiously aggressive batsman with a strike rate of 163. This sort of aggression is doubly valuable because it demoralizes the opponent. In fact it is interesting to compare Maharoof with his compatriot Dilhara Fernando: both have similar skills - Fernando would probably be a better bet in a test match - but as the game gets shorter, Maharoof's value rises sharply. Glenn McGrath was a marvel who proved that a bowler with exceptional variety and control can still ride a T20 game with just one skill; but if you lose that control your value drops very rapidly.

Chennai Super Kings (won 8, lost 6)Top five Players

Albie Morkel
MS Dhoni
Suresh Raina
Manpreet Gony
S Badrinath

Two of Chennai's best players, Matthew Hayden and Michael Hussey, don't figure in the top five because they played just four matches. Albie Morkel took enough wickets, and scored enough runs rapidly, to reach the top of the list. The captain, M S Dhoni, usually scored the runs when they were needed most, but his strike rate of 131 is a little surprising; Dhoni has the capability of having a 150+ strike rate. One could argue that Dhoni paced his innings appropriately, but there would have been serious questions asked if Chennai had been eliminated because of a poorer net run rate.Suresh Raina rediscovered his fluid batting form and used the IPL as a vehicle to return to the national team. He would become much more valuable in T20 if he worked on his bowling. Manpreet Gony didn't get to bat enough, but he too looks poised to become the sort of explosive bowling all-rounder that T20 cricket needs. The statistics suggest that Badrinath played a good supporting role, but he did more. He assumed the leading batsman's role to contain the collapses Chennai experienced in the aftermath of the Hayden-Hussey departures.

Kings XI Punjab (won 10, lost 4)

Top five Players

Shaun Marsh
Irfan Pathan
Yuvraj Singh
K Sangakkara
Piyush Chawla

Shaun Marsh seemed so composed and capable that one wonders why he isn't opening for Australia instead of Phil Jaques right now. Marsh was the top scorer in the IPL DLF with an excellent strike rate of 140. Any batsman who can sustain such a high strike rate on top of a batting average of about 60 is incredibly special. Irfan Pathan hasn't been required to bat too much, but giving him the new ball was a very smart move.Yuvraj Singh has exploded when required - and that hasn't been too often. Sangakkara has been equally explosive, albeit with greater subtlety, to earn a strike rate of 163. A good indicator of how well Punjab have played is that four of the top five have a MVPI over 400.Piyush Chawla makes the top five because he complemented his 17 wickets with some energetic batting. Very few spinners figure in our top five lists; and while it might be wrong to rush to conclusions, the numbers suggest that leg spinners have out-performed off-spinners in the IPL. Sreesanth topped Punjab's wicket tally with 19 wickets, but his MVPI is only 285 because he's hardly had the opportunity to bat - in fact he may have spent more time crying in the middle than batting.

Rajasthan Royals (won 11, lost 3)

Top five Players
Shane Watson
Yusuf Pathan
Sohail Tanvir
Graeme Smith
Shane Warne

After his performance in the first semi-final, Shane Watson is certain to become the most valuable player of the DLF IPL (his MVPI is now more than 800; our analysis is based on data after the league phase). Watson has had almost a perfect tournament - although he might have liked a slightly lower economy rate. Yusuf Pathan's clean and big hitting has been magical and Graeme Smith is playing the perfect opener's game: watchful in the first few overs, and brutal once he settles down.Sohail Tanvir has been the IPL's best bowler claiming the maximum wickets and giving away just a run per ball. His success suggests that in T20 cricket you should incessantly attack the stumps. Shoaib Akhtar does much the same thing when he's fit and in a mood to bowl. And what can one say about Shane Warne? He has been the most dominating influence at the DLF IPL. His overs are watched with rapt attention; indeed savoured, because the great maestro doesn't have too much time left on the cricket field. Watching him captain, one is often reminded of Imran Khan . Like Imran, Warne is the only master out there: he holds all the strings, and the others simply dance to his tune. The Rajasthan Royals team too has been chosen so that Warne fits snugly into this Imran-like role: the team is packed with young Indians and Pakistanis who are culturally inclined to be reverential to a great player, a few fellow Australians and a grateful rookie from Warne's own Hampshire. Graeme Smith is the odd man out, but he's doing his job and minding his own business.

Source : http://www.rediff.com/cricket/2008/may/31stats.htm

IPL Series Final - Chennai Super kings Vs Rajasthan Royals

Today is a final match of IPL series which was played between Eight Teams For last on month. From them four teams enter into semo finals Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils

In semi-finals Rajasthan Royals won the Delhi Daredevils. and Kings XI Punjab was beaten by Chennai Super Kings.

The two best teams with two best-led teams. Warne and Dhoni are the two magicians who will conduct the show. It's one of India's most charismatic and successful limited-overs captain against arguably the greatest captain the World never had !

Teams
Rajasthan have truly been a great team - a worthy opponent to face in the finals - unlike say, Punjab, who were more pretenders than anything else. They have given us some wonderful cricket, some delightful memories - the way Shane Warne has led this team has been simply inspiring.

Strengths - Batting order with well-defined roles, Tanvir, Warne, Watson - the best all-rounder
Weaknesses - Will miss Smith, Perhaps the seamers to backup Tanvir and Watson ?

Chennai - we have displayed the one great trait of a champion side - the ability to lift our game when it matters most. We peaked at the start of the tournament, went through a bit of a lean patch but are just beginning to bring our best at the climax. You can rely on the captaincy of Dhoni to handle situations like these.

Strengths - Raina striking some serious form, Dhoni, Morkel - an all-rounder not quite as good as Watson, but a fair competitor, Ntini striking form, Gony
Weaknesses - Opening - remains the Achille's heel of our team, back-up bowling.

League Record 2-0 in favor of the Royals
First game we were blown off by the Sohail-storm, but in the home game we gave a memorable fight. However, Watson did not play that game. But the main backbone of the batting in that game Graeme Smith is out injured, so that could be a huge bonu

We Will Rock YoU

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v21.nonxt7.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Dabcc75729d1ccdb2%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331836980%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D66DC652F4055345C38A678D9B64362152C0A9822.1086BF759618E1C2A0B8547EBFA7D5E5ED3DCC71%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Dabcc75729d1ccdb2%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DhI3f2U_dWG4cQY_0D0dD3G6R2rM&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Aishwarya Rai in Rajini film

Ever since Shankar announced his next film titled “Robot“, there has been a lot of buzz about it. Be it about trying to cast Shah Rukh Khan, later Hrithik Roshan or about the high budget. Now the recent buzz is about if Aishwarya Rai would accept act in this film or not. Apparently Shankar offered a big sum to Aishwarya. A lot of Rajinikanth’s fans are waiting eagerly to see if they would be fortunate enough to see his favorite super star pair up with Aishwarya Rai.
Until yesterday there was some news that Aishwarya Bachchan may not accept this project as she wants to have babies before she gets too old for that. But today there was some news that Aishwarya has confirmed that she is going to pair up opposite Rajinikanth in “Robot“. According to the sources that this news came from, she has confirmed this in her recent interview to a private news channel. Both teams, lead by new young captains, have played a fearless brand of cricket worthy of the tournament
Ten days earlier, in Durban, India and Pakistan played out a tie, and were involved in the first ever international bowl out, the equivalent of a soccer penalty shoot out, which India won 3-0. This match, the final held in Johannesburg crowd to the same tension filled, nail biting finale, but in the end India’s bowlers held their nerve, and were crowned the first ever T20 world champions.
Wining the toss and deciding to bat, India scrapped their way to 157-7 on a pitch were 180 was considered par and 200 a good score, Pakistan must have fancied their chances of getting the runs. However finals bring with them added pressure, and Pakistan v India even more so, and so runs on the board would always have suited Dhoni. The pitch didn’t seem to play as well as many thought, with batsman struggling to time and force the ball, but a superb innings of 75 from Gambhir and a cameo knock of 30 from Rohit Sharma, got India to a below par total, but one that good bowling could defend. For Pakistan Umar Gul was once again the star, taking 3-28.
Pakistan, who would have been confident of chasing down the target, having only lost the bowl out against India in the 2 weeks, lost wickets at regular intervals, and with 54 needed from just 24 balls and with only 3 wickets in hand were well and truely out of it. Misbah Ul-Haq had other plans and attempted to rescue Pakistan again, just as he had with a 50 in that tie in Durban, and got Pakistan to within 5 runs of the total in the last over, when he was the last man out for 43. India’s bowling was lead by opening bowler RP Singh with 3-23 and a superb middle innings burst from Irfan Pathan, who claimed 3-16.
In the end a successful championship got the match it deserved, and the winners it deserved, and most importantly perhaps, for world cricket, that winner was not Australia.

Easy and Difficult of our life

EASY DIFFICULT

Easy is to judge the mistakes of others Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes

Easy is to talk without thinking Difficult is to refrain the tongue

Easy is to hurt someone who loves us.
